Most of our work comes from referrals and repeat customers, which says more than any advertisement. We use premium materials, excavate and compact a proper base, design for drainage, and stand behind every job.
Key facts
Problems we solve
Not sure what you need? Start with what you’re seeing. Here are the most common problems New Jersey homeowners call us about, and how we solve them.
What you seeCars park on the lawn, doors hit each other, or someone always has to move a car to get out.
Why it happensMany New Jersey driveways were built for one smaller car decades ago.
How we fix itWe widen with matching material on a full-depth base, add a parking pad or turnaround, and check your town’s limits on driveway width and curb cuts.
How to prevent itPlan for the cars you’ll own in ten years, not the ones you have today.
What you seeA patch of interconnected cracks that looks like reptile skin, usually in wheel paths or near the garage.
Why it happensThe base underneath has failed. Water got through surface cracks, softened the stone and soil, and the asphalt is now flexing under every car. It’s a structural failure, not a surface one.
How we fix itWe saw-cut around the failed area, dig out the asphalt and the wet base, install and compact new stone, then patch with hot-mix asphalt. If more than about a quarter of the driveway looks like this, full replacement is the better value.
How to prevent itSeal cracks as soon as they appear, keep downspouts discharging away from the driveway, and sealcoat every 2–3 years.
What you seeA growing gap between the stoop and the foundation, often with water getting in.
Why it happensThe stoop was built without a footing below frost depth, or the soil underneath has eroded, so it settles independently of the house.
How we fix itThis usually means a rebuild: demolish, pour a proper footing, build a solid core and finish in brick, stone or pavers.
How to prevent itFootings below frost depth and good drainage at the base prevent separation.
What you seeRainwater runs back to the foundation, the door threshold or the basement window wells.
Why it happensThe patio was built flat or settled near the house, where backfill soil is often loose.
How we fix itWe rebuild with a compacted base and a consistent pitch of about 1/8–1/4″ per foot away from the house, and add a channel drain where needed.
How to prevent itMake pitch and drainage part of the design conversation before anything is built.
What you seeA wet line around the edge of the basement floor after rain.
Why it happensHydrostatic pressure. Saturated soil pushes water through the cold joint between the footing, wall and slab.
How we fix itAn interior perimeter drain at the footing collects the water and sends it to a sump pump, relieving pressure.
How to prevent itManage roof water and grading so less water reaches the foundation.
What you seeSandy, recessed or missing mortar between bricks or stones.
Why it happensAge, water and freeze-thaw. Mortar is meant to wear before the brick does, but eventually it needs renewing.
How we fix itWe rake out the deteriorated mortar to the proper depth and repoint with a mortar matched in strength and color to the original.
How to prevent itRepoint every few decades, and keep gutters and sprinklers from soaking masonry.

Driveways
Freeze-thaw cycles, plows and road salt are tough on paving. The difference between a driveway that lasts 25 years and one that cracks in three is what’s underneath, so we excavate to firm ground, install and compact a stone base, and pitch every surface to shed water.
Outdoor living
Turn your yard into a space you’ll use every day: paver and bluestone patios, walkways and garden paths, seat walls, fire pits, raised beds and pool surrounds, designed around how your family lives.
Our process
Tom or a family member walks the property, measures, checks drainage and talks through materials and budget.
You get a clear, itemised quote covering excavation, base depth, materials, finish and clean-up. No pressure.
Our own crew excavates, builds the compacted base and installs the surface using quality materials.
We clean up, walk the finished job with you, explain aftercare and stand behind the work.
Masonry
From front stoops and steps to retaining walls, pillars and Belgian block, our masonry crew builds on proper footings with drainage behind every wall. We also repair brick and stone, repoint joints and restore older masonry.
Waterproofing & foundations
Water and foundations go hand in hand. We provide basement waterproofing, including interior drainage, sump pumps, exterior membranes and grading, and foundation repair for cracked or deteriorating walls. As paving contractors, we also fix driveways and patios that send water toward your house.

I met with the owner Thomas, who gave me ideas and choices for the look I was trying to envision. The crew tore up my old cracked concrete patio and sidewalk and installed gorgeous new pavers. They did the work promptly and professionally and cleaned up well after the jobsite.

Last month they did my backyard stoop, patio and walkway, and added a french drain to a sump pit in the yard. They did an amazing job! I highly recommend them for any paving and masonry work. Tom and crew are a pleasure to deal with.
